A Taste of the Hills Benefit Showcases Regional Dining

BASKING RIDGE, NJ (October 28, 2011) – Enjoy an evening of wonderful food and great company at the 14th annual A Taste of the Hills on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6:00-9:00pm at Fair Winds at Basking Ridge Country Club. Hosted by the Friends of the of the Visiting Nurse Association(VNA) of Somerset Hills, this year’s event honors the VNA’s Rummage Sale volunteers for their hard work and tireless efforts in support of the mission of the organization.

Over 35 food establishments will offer a delicious array of items from their menus for tasting. You’ll be able to sample everything from their soups and hors d’oeuvres to entrees, desserts and wine. Long-time participants such as the Bernards Inn, Aoyama, Due Terre, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Grain House and Bamboo Grille and Equus will be joined by newcomers including Two Fifty Two, Luna Rossa, Red Oak Grill and Ridge Tavern. The evening also includes a silent auction and basket raffle offering a unique collection of merchandise and experiences donated by local vendors and individuals.

”We are excited and grateful to have participation from so many fantastic regional restaurants and merchants,” said Susan Lichtenberger of Mendham, event co-chair and VNA of Somerset Hills Board of Trustees member. “Their generous support will help the VNA of Somerset Hills continue to provide much needed Adult Day Services to members of our Morris and Somerset County communities, regardless of their ability to pay.”

The Adult Day Center of the VNA of Somerset Hills in Basking Ridge provides a caring and welcoming environment of customized supervision and socialization for the frail elderly or chronically disabled adult who may otherwise have to stay home alone or be prematurely placed in a long term care facility. The Center also provides support to family members and caregivers because it allows them the freedom to go to work, handle personal business or just relax while knowing their loved one is well cared for and safe.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person in advance and $85 at the door. For reservations and information, visit www.visitingnurse.org/events or call the event chair at 908-236-6632.
