Development and Event Coordinator – FT/PT

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the efforts of the Director of Development & Marketing by assisting with the coordination of fundraising efforts, including event coordination and donor relations

REPORTS TO: Director of Development & Marketing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven ability to efficiently manage and utilize donor database
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Computer competence: Donor database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge; on-line giving portals; Microsoft Word; Excel; and Publisher
  • Previous experience at a non-profit, service oriented agency
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Previous development experience supporting fundraising events and donor relations preferred

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of VNA mission, philosophy, policies, and programs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including editing and proofing
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including demonstrated confidence and poise in dealing with donors, Board members and volunteers
  • Strong database experience
  • Passion for event planning
  • Experience in utilizing communication channels, including social media and mass mailing applications to promote events
  • Ability to work independently, multitask/manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results on deadlines
  • Ability to properly maintain and deal with confidential information
  • Ability to work flexible hours for events, including evenings and weekends as needed

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and utilize donor database (including but not limited to complex mail merges and query creations)
  • Coordinate numerous mailings annually
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records, files and financial data for all agency events
  • Secure all required contracts, invoices, proof of insurance and other documentation as needed for events
  • Develop event specific organizational tools such as event timelines, invitation lists, and on site deliverable schedules when appropriate
  • Compile post event reports and evaluations
  • Effectively communicate with Board members, donors, event partners and volunteers
  • Attend events as department representative
  • Work collaboratively with Event Chair’s and Communications Manager on fundraising efforts
  • Develop and implement procedure for consistent and accurate data entry in Raiser’s Edge
  • Perform other duties as assigned
