Development Assistant (Part-time)

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to support the efforts of the Development Coordinator by assisting with maintaining an accurate donor database and processing of donations.

REPORTS TO: Development Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven ability to efficiently learn and utilize a donor database system, preferably Raiser’s Edge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and written
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong data base experience
  • Ability to properly maintain and deal with confidential information

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence, in a timely manner
  • Process all on-line donations
  • Process credit card donations
  • Maintain foundation, corporation and individual donor files
  • Continually update and correct database records
  • Run monthly hospice donor tracking report
  • Provide backup data entry support for all events
  • Prepare mail merges and mailing lists for all events
  • Prepare mailings and deliver letters to post office within assigned timeframe
  • Other duties as assigned by the Development Coordinator

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

  • Number of donations processed and acknowledged within 24 to 48 hours
  • Success in maintaining accuracy of database records
  • Timeliness of processing mailings for events
  • Accuracy of mailing lists for events
