Are you struggling to meet the needs of an aging relative or friend while still trying to keep your own life going?
FARE can help.
What is FARE?
FARE (Friends and Relatives of the Elderly) is a caregiver support group that is designed to help one cope with caring for an elderly or disabled loved one through constant, unbiased support from your peers, educational programs, and discussion of stress and stress management techniques.
The family caregiver's increased responsibilities, as well as changes in lifestyle, coupled with feelings of frustration, helplessness, love, anger, guilt, and loneliness cannot be eliminated, but we can learn to recognize and live with these stresses.
What are our goals?
FARE has a defined set of goals and is dedicated to achieving them:
- To provide a forum of peer support among the friends and relatives who care for the elderly and chronically disabled
- To provide educational information on the process of aging and the resources available for the caregiver
- To address the needs which surface in the course of our experience within the group
What is our schedule?
FARE meets twice monthly:
- 2nd WEDNESDAYS, 6:00PM to 7:30PM -- FARE meets the second Wednesday of each month at Arbor Glen in Bridgewater
- 4th MONDAYS, 1:30PM to 3:00PM -- FARE meets the fourth Monday of each month at the VNA of Somerset Hills
