

Our Friendly Visitor Program brings trained volunteers to the homebound elderly and the disabled.
Who do friendly visitors help?
- Those who are either lonely or isolated.
- Those who are sick or frail, but not needing constant care or medical attention.
- Those who would benefit from socialization and conversation either at home or in a nursing home.
What does a volunteer do during a friendly visit?
Friendly visitors are there to show a lonely person that someone cares. Friendly visitors can:
- Share conversation, memories and interests.
- Read aloud, write notes and help with personal correspondence.
- Initiate handcrafts, play games or cards.
- Go for a short walk or a drive.
- Celebrate holidays and birthdays.
What can a client expect from a friendly visit?
- Friendship, companionship and conversation.
- Visits several times a month.
- Possible help with simple errands.
- Friendly visitors cannot give personal care, medications or physically move patients.
