  • Why are volunteers important in the VNA Hospice Care program?

  • Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. They provide clients, caregivers and family members with physical and emotional support during this important and stressful time. Care giving for loved ones with a life-limiting illness can be exhausting. Volunteers assist the caregiver by providing opportunities for a much needed break.

  • How long is the training?

  • Volunteers are required to attend an 18 hour training program and will gain an overall understanding of the hospice philosophy. Training takes place once a week for six consecutive weeks
