Men and Women Needed as Friendly Visitor Volunteers
Volunteer Training Session Sponsored by
The Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills

Bernardsville, NJ – The Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills invites men and women to make a difference in the life of an elderly or disabled person by volunteering a with them for few hours each month. Our clients are mostly home bound, living alone or with a family member who must leave the house for long hours each day. With these visits, the volunteers reduce the isolation and loneliness of the clients and often provide respite for caregivers. Some volunteers help with errands or transportation. The volunteer is matched with someone in their own community.

Training for new volunteers will be held April 17, 2006, from 11am to 2pm. at St. Matthias Parish Meeting Room, in Somerset, NJ. The training session, offered free of charge by the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills, will include informative presentations, sensitivity training and other activities to make the volunteer ready for assignments.

To register for training or to request more information, please call the Manager of Volunteers, Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills at (908) 766- 0180, ext. 118 or by email: akelleher@visitingnurse.org.
