2010 Nursing Scholarship Criteria

In an effort to foster the study of nursing, the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills (VNA) offers two scholarships each year to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Criteria for Eligibility:
Resident of Morris or Somerset county
Accepted into a program leading to a baccalaureate degree in nursing
Good academic standing

Amount of Award: $1,000

Award Committee: The Personnel Committee of the VNA Board of Trustees

Timetable for Award Decision:
Application MUST BE RECEIVED by the VNA no later than April 27, 2010. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
Award Committee decision will be made by May 18, 2010.
If possible, the award presentation will be made at school’s award ceremony.
In the event that the awarded is unable to accept the award, the scholarship will be presented to an alternate selected by the Award Committee.

Application Requirements:
Complete the attached application and append the following:

Two (2) letters of recommendation, from either teachers, guidance counselors, and/or employers
Personal statement indicating why student has chosen to pursue a career in nursing
School transcript
List of extra-curricular activities
List of work experiences
