Diane identifies herself as a member of the “Sandwich Generation.” Along with raising her own three children, Diane is primary caregiver for her 100 year-old mother, Ann. Suffering from incontinence and anxiety, Ann is also at high risk for falls. Ensuring she is always well cared for and safe is very difficult for Diane, who works full time and has a long commute. She credits the services received through our Respite Care program in helping the entire family manage caregiving demands while still being able to enjoy their own lives.
Diane praises the kindness and attentiveness of our certified home health aides, who help her mother maintain an important feeling of independence. Besides assisting with daily activities such as bathing, grooming and laundry, the aides also provide important social interaction and help Ann with completing beloved activities such as writing and mailing greeting cards.
“Respite is a life saver and allows us to care for Mother. Our family couldn’t function without it…Thank you Respite for staying by our side,” said Diane.
